Mr Peeks is the most mysterious character in BO7 Zombies right now. He spawns randomly during Cursed Mode on Paradox Junction, dances around playing music, and drops eggs filled with insane loot. The problem? Nobody fully understands how his spawns work. As ZoneX put it, the community has "zero idea" why he shows up.

Our team has been grinding Cursed Mode since launch, tracking Mr Peeks spawns, testing all 3 relic unlock paths, and documenting everything that guides leave out. This is the complete breakdown of Cursed Mode on Paradox Junction, from spawn mechanics to relic trials.

!
Before You Start

You must complete the Paradox Junction Easter egg (Dark Heart boss fight) before you can access relic challenges in Cursed Mode. Standard or Directed mode both count.

What is Cursed Mode?

Cursed Mode is an endgame difficulty modifier in Black Ops 7 Zombies. It adds three tiers of increasing challenge, each with better rewards and more brutal enemies. Think of it as the next step after you've beaten the Easter egg and pushed high rounds in standard mode.

Cursed Tiers

60+

Each tier ramps up enemy aggression and spawns but also improves loot quality and opens up exclusive mechanics like the Mr Peeks egg drops. Relics are permanent modifiers you unlock through trials, each one changing how you play in a significant way.

Cursed Mode is for players who want that extra challenge. It's the natural progression for Easter egg hunters and high-round players looking for something beyond standard Zombies. If you're new to BO7 PvE, check out our Endgame guide first.

The Mr Peeks Mystery

Mr Peeks can spawn at any point during a Cursed Mode game on tier 1 or above. He shows up somewhere on the map, plays music, dances for roughly 60 seconds, and then disappears. Shoot him during the dance and he drops an egg on the ground. Miss him or don't find him in time, and he vanishes with nothing.

That much is known. What's been driving the community crazy is the "why" and "when."

What Our Team Has Noticed

After dozens of Cursed runs, here's what we've pieced together about Mr Peeks spawns:

  • Some games he never shows up at all. When he does appear, we typically see him 3 to 4 times per game
  • The highest chance of spawning is between rounds 1 and 12, with tier 3 giving the best odds
  • He has 4 spawn locations total: 2 on present Nuketown and 2 on past Nuketown
  • Spawn location appears completely random across those 4 spots
  • No confirmed connection between active relics, round number, or player actions

ZoneX's community research lines up with what we've seen. In his breakdown video, even after weeks of data collection, whether Mr Peeks spawns near you or just somewhere on the map is still unknown. You might run right past him without realizing it.

Spawn Locations

ZombiKnightmare documented several locations across both versions of Nuketown. The ones we've confirmed:

  • Present Nuketown: Near the double points area (jump on the fence to spot him) and near the chimney on the back house
  • Past Nuketown: Two additional spots, though exact positions vary between sources

When you hear his music, move fast. 60 seconds sounds generous, but if he spawned on the other side of the map, you're probably not making it in time.

Egg Rewards by Tier

The egg Mr Peeks drops has three possible rarities, and your Cursed tier directly affects what you can get.

Egg Rarity Available From Rewards
Bronze Tier 1+ Small points bonus, 3 random mystery perks
Silver Tier 2+ 5,000 salvage, ether tool, 5 mystery perks, monkey bomb, streak
Gold Tier 3 only 25,000 points, 2 wonder weapons (including Necro Fluid Gauntlet)

Playing on tier 3 doesn't guarantee gold eggs. You can still get a bronze egg on tier 3. But tier 3 is the only way to have a shot at gold. Getting a gold egg early in a run basically sets you up for the entire game with two wonder weapons right off the bat.

Worth Knowing

Even a bronze egg in the first few rounds is a huge boost. Three free mystery perks that early can completely change your run.

Cursed Mode Strategy for Paradox Junction

Finding Mr Peeks is one thing, but surviving long enough to actually benefit from his eggs is another. Cursed Mode on Paradox Junction hits hard, especially on tier 3 where the best egg drops are. Here's what our team runs to stay alive and maximize those Mr Peeks encounters.

Loadout

  • Field Upgrade: Ether Shroud or Frenzy Guard
  • Weapon: Try to get the M34 Novaline from the Mystery Box. It's the current meta weapon for this map
  • Lethal: Semtex

MrDalekJD's Paradox Junction strategy video covers the optimal M34 Novaline attachment build in detail. Copy his build code for the best setup.

Training Spot

Always train at Pack-a-Punch, preferably on past Nuketown. It has the most open space and the fewest choke points. If things get too crowded or you're about to go down, teleport to the other Nuketown. The transition buys you a few seconds of breathing room.

Perks

Perks are randomized in Cursed Mode, so you can't just buy what you want. Our team's approach: run trials until you have every perk. Trials are the most consistent way to fill out your perk slots without relying on luck.

A Counterintuitive Tip

This sounds backwards, but if it's your first time in Cursed Mode, play on a higher tier. Higher difficulty means better loot, better upgrades, and better drops throughout the game. You'll have an easier time gearing up for the challenges ahead. It's tougher moment-to-moment, but the improved rewards make each run more manageable overall.

Tips From Our Team

Start Every Game with Free Loot

Before doing anything in Cursed Mode, jump on the Nuketown bus and shoot the clock hands to read 1:15 (big hand on 3, small hand on 1). After the first dog round when you teleport to the past, a free Pack-a-Punch crystal, ether tool, legendary weapon, and random perk drop from the sky. Do this every single game. There's no reason not to.

Free Hole-in-One Bonus

In past Nuketown, head to the Yellow House backyard golf course. Shoot the closest golf ball into the hole with the white flag. Instant Bonus Points, Insta Kill, and Max Armor. Takes 5 seconds.

Don't Sleep on Side Easter Eggs

The Paradox Junction intel doc featuring Mr Peeks at the Nuketown sign

Paradox Junction has over 20 side Easter eggs that give free upgrades. The clock trick and golf ball are the fastest, but melting all 12 mannequins with acid gives you 3 free random perks. Worth doing if you need perks and trials aren't cooperating.

When Mr Peeks Shows Up, Drop Everything

If you hear music and don't see a radio, it's probably Mr Peeks. Stop what you're doing and search both Nuketowns. Even a bronze egg in the early rounds gives you three free perks, and that advantage snowballs through the rest of the game. Need a squad to grind Cursed Mode? Use our BO7 LFG system.
