Privacy Policy
This page explains what happens with your data when you visit codcentral.net, the website of the COD Central community. The site is a collection of Call of Duty guides, an interactive DMZ map and landing pages for our Discord server. You do not need an account to use it and the site has no forms, logins or newsletters.
The Discord server itself runs on Discord's platform and is covered by Discord's privacy policy. This page is about the website only.
What we collect automatically
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records the IP address, browser type and requested page of every visit, as every web server does. These logs exist to keep the site running and to block abuse, and are not used to profile you.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics. A cookieless counter that tells us how many people visit which pages and from which country. It stores nothing in your browser and does not identify individual visitors.
- Google Analytics 4. Visit statistics from Google: pages viewed, time on page, country, device type and the site or search engine you came from. Google Analytics sets cookies to recognise a returning browser. We keep this data for 14 months, we have not turned on Google signals or advertising features, and we do not send Google any name, email address or other personal detail. Google processes this data on its own servers, including in the United States, under Google's privacy policy.
The cookie choice
If you visit from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics stays off until you accept it in the bar at the bottom of the page. Decline and it never loads. Your answer is stored in your browser, so the bar shows once. Visitors from other regions are counted straight away, as their local rules allow.
You can change your answer at any time: and the bar will ask again on the next page you open.
Cookies and browser storage we use
cc-consentin your browser's local storage: whether you accepted or declined Google Analytics._gaand_ga_*: Google Analytics cookies, set only after consent where consent is required. They hold a random identifier for your browser, not your identity.
No other cookies are set by us. Embedded content from other services may set its own, see below.
Embedded content and outbound links
- YouTube videos in guides are shown as a thumbnail first. The player loads from youtube-nocookie.com only after you press play, and from that point YouTube's policy applies.
- Posts from X embedded in a guide load X's widget, which may set cookies from platform.twitter.com.
- Discord invite links take you to Discord. We count the click as a plain outbound click in our statistics, nothing more.
- Links to Activision, Steam and other sites lead to pages we do not control.
Advertising
The site currently shows no advertising. If we add an advertising partner later, this page will say which one, what it collects, and the cookie bar will cover that choice too. We do not sell your data and never will.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and UK data protection law you can ask what data we hold about you, ask for it to be deleted, or object to its use. In practice we hold almost nothing that can be linked to a person, but ask and we will check. Open a support ticket in our Discord server and the team will handle it.
Children
The site is intended for players who meet the age rating of the Call of Duty games and Discord's minimum age. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
Changes to this policy
When this page changes, the date at the top moves. Bigger changes, like adding an advertising partner, are announced in our Discord server as well.
