X01 is the new DMZ black site that came with Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 on November 6. You do not deploy into it from the FOB. You start a normal Hajin run, travel to one building in the far north of the map and take a freight elevator down. This guide shows exactly where that building is and how the elevator works, with our own screenshots from launch day.
- The X01 entrance is at the far north west tip of Hajin, grid B0, north of Jayon Warehouses
- No key needed. Press the red ENGAGE button at the gate, then hold to enter X01 in the freight elevator
- Your squad has to stand in the elevator, or it stays behind on Hajin
- After about 80 seconds of loading you spawn in the X01 Data Center, with a 20-minute gas timer
Where the X01 entrance is
The X01 entrance sits at the very top of the Hajin map, in grid B0 in the north west corner. B0 is the row above B1, right on the edge of the map, so it is easy to overlook. It is a walled site at the end of the road that runs north along the river, roughly 450 m north of Jayon Warehouses and 500 m north west of the Russian Border Crossing (West). The first X01 order describes it as “the abandoned elevator shaft near the facility in the North West of Hajin”. We matched our own tac map footage against the full Hajin map to put the elevator on the exact spot.

On your own tac map the elevator shows up as a walled site where the road bends. Ping it before you head out, because it sits on the very edge of the map.

Getting to the entrance
You cannot pick where you infil, but two infil points are close. If you spawn at Jayon Warehouses (roughly 400 m away) or North Fork Hajin River (roughly 450 m), follow the road north along the river until it ends at the walled site. Revolution Dam, about 900 m away, is the next closest. Our spawn locations guide shows all 22 infil points on Hajin.
If you change your mind on the way, the nearest Hajin exfil is at Jayon Warehouses, roughly 675 m south of the entrance.
On the ground you are looking for a red-brick building with a barred metal gate on its right side. When we got there, someone had chalked “209 A14” on the wall next to it.

Taking the elevator into X01
- Walk up to the barred gate and press the red ENGAGE button on the wall panel next to it. The prompt reads “Open Door”.
- Follow the corridor through the warehouse to the freight elevator, an open mesh cage at the end.
- Step into the cage and use the keypad panel inside. Hold the interact button on “Hold to Enter X01”.
- The game shows “X01 Travel Started” and warns that players too far away when the elevator departs are left behind. Get your squad into the cage now.
- A second prompt, “Hold to Confirm Travel to X01”, runs on a timer of about 30 seconds. Hold it to leave straight away, or let the timer run out.
- The screen fades to a loading sequence with a scan of the facility. It took about 80 seconds for us.

We needed no key, keycard, cash or item to get in. The gate button and the elevator were free to use. Bring your squad into the cage before you confirm, because whoever is outside stays on Hajin.
When you arrive
You spawn in front of a set of orange double doors in the Data Center. The pause menu now calls the mode “DMZ X01”, so X01 runs as its own area. The first X01 order, Fresh Start (“Infil into X01”), ticks off within seconds.
The radiation countdown you had on Hajin is gone. In its place a Toxic Gas Spreading In timer starts at 20 minutes. Activision warns that the facility starts to close off extraction points as time runs out, so know where your way out is before the gas arrives.
