MW4 Season 1 Battle Pass: All 100 Tiers, Is It Worth It?

Season 1 of Modern Warfare 4 went live on November 6, and with it the first paid Battle Pass of the game. It has 100 tiers, six instant rewards when you buy it and six more when you finish it. We bought it on launch day and captured every reward in game, so every tile below is our own screenshot.

Each tile is our own in-game capture. Click a tile for the full reward screen, and for blueprints and Operator skins switch to the Preview to see the whole weapon with its attachments or the Operator from head to toe. Green labels are free tiers, gold borders mark the headline rewards, and BC marks a reward that has a BlackCell version.

Is the MW4 Season 1 Battle Pass worth it?

Yes. Modern Warfare 4 has only been out for two weeks, so there have been very few skins to earn so far. This pass is the first real batch, with 10 Operator skins and 26 blueprints and weapons. And if you play it to tier 100 you get every COD Point back, so the next pass costs you nothing.

A few skins stand out for players with a slower, tactical style who would rather not be seen. Nocturn for Oh-Ji at tier 10 is a full ghillie suit, and Patience for Min-Hee at tier 43 is a camouflaged outfit with a ghillie hood. In a bush on Hajin they are hard to pick out. Naval Special Warfare Classic at tier 85 is a woodland camo uniform with face paint in the same spirit.

For DMZ players there is free gear on top. The Survival Kits drop armor, medical items, drones, traps and explosives into your loadout, and two of them come with a weapons locker key. That is a nice extra on a pass you would buy for the cosmetics anyway.

The weapon blueprints are the best part of the pass. Kill Order, Ruin Fang, Deathgrip, Prime Echo and Bellum have a real premium look, both in the normal version and the BlackCell one. The BlackCell Operator skins are a different story. The red-helmet look is not for us, so we would not buy BlackCell for the skins alone.

Plays every week	Buy the Battle Pass for 1,100 CP. Reach tier 100 and the CP comes back.
Plays now and then	Still a fair deal. Catch-up carries you to tier 50 by December 25, which is half the pass and 300 CP back.
Wants it all	BlackCell for the gold blueprint variants and the extra DMZ perks. Skip it if you are after the Operator skins.

Anyone can earn these, without buying the pass. The highlights are the two new base weapons, two Operator skins and a Legendary blueprint late in the pass.

DMZ Survival Kits: what is inside

The pass has nine Survival Kits. The reward screen lists what is inside each kit, so the table below is exactly what you get. Kits wait in the Survival Kits menu without taking Stash space until you claim them, as our FOB guide explains, and most of them also come from DMZ levels, see our level rewards guide.

BlackCell adds a tenth kit, the Legendary Advanced Triage Kit. The two free base weapons also unlock their Weapon Manuals, so you can build the Cronen Osprey and CSG-35 in the DMZ Gunsmith once you have reached tiers 16 and 36. Price, COD Points back and catch-up

The purchase screen offers three options. The prices below are what our store showed on launch day.

The overview tab counts 114 rewards in total, with 10 Operator skins, 26 blueprints and weapons, 27 BlackCell items and 900 COD Points. That 900 CP sits on nine tiers of 100 CP each (11, 20, 37, 53, 59, 67, 80, 89 and 98). The completion page adds another 200 CP, which brings you to the 1,100 CP the pass costs. Tiers 11 and 80 are free, so free players collect 200 CP as well.

New this year is the catch-up system. If you own the paid pass and fall behind, the game moves you up to the tier that matches the current day of the season. That stops at day 50, which is December 25. Tier Skip Tokens work differently than the name suggests. They claim a reward ahead of you (10 tiers ahead with the Bundle, 20 with BlackCell), but your own position on the track does not move.

Finish all 100 tiers and the Bonus Rewards tab opens with Season 1 Reloaded, with eight more Operator skins that you earn one at a time. On launch day the timer on that tab read 26 days and 18 hours.

BlackCell in Season 1

BlackCell is built around XERO, a new Operator with two more skins (Cowled and Adder) that you unlock through BlackCell challenges. Alongside the instant rewards above, BlackCell owners get a BlackCell version of seven Operator skins and seven blueprints in the pass. The skins are Downpour and Vantage for Blix, Nocturn, Old Guard, Patience, Feral Bite and Dour, and the blueprints are Guardian Best, Prime Echo, Highkeep, Ruin Fang, Deathgrip, Kill Order and Bellum.

For DMZ players the useful parts are the Advanced Triage Kit, an extra weapon and up to four pieces of equipment at the FOB vendor, a daily reward in the FOB such as printer ingredients (it does not stack, so collect it every day), and a Weapon Manual for every BlackCell blueprint you unlock. There is also a BlackCell camo track with six camos for weapon challenges.

As we said above, the BlackCell weapon variants look great and the Operator skins much less so. If the gold blueprints and the daily DMZ perks are worth €30 to you, go for it. If you only want the pass itself, the 1,100 CP version is the better deal.

What other lists get wrong

We checked every reward against what the official blog and other sites list. These are the differences we found in game.

• Got Ya! at tier 12 is a Semtex skin, not a Sticky Grenade skin
• Happy Boom, an instant reward, is a Frag Grenade skin, not a Sticky Grenade skin
• Cold Resin for the SANG 9mm sits at tier 32, not tier 38
• Pointman for the WZ.55 Striga sits at tier 38, not tier 40
• Kill Order at tier 87 is Ultra rarity and comes with the Cronen Helix Mk.II APEX attachment
