The Camo Costume Party is Black Ops 7’s Halloween camo event, and it is the biggest camo grind Season 06 has. There are 36 challenges spread over four modes, nine camos to earn, and the new Arcblade melee weapon at the end of it. You have until Thursday 8 October to finish it, and the nine challenges that unlock the Arcblade can come from any mode you like.
- 36 challenges, four modes. Co-Op and Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone each have one challenge per weapon class.
- One camo per mode. Undergrowth, Gray Matter, Zombie Mai Tai and Patchwork, unlocked class by class.
- Four animated mastery camos. Clear all nine challenges in a mode for Gravebloom, Grubs, Malignant or Death Row.
- The Arcblade needs any 9 challenges. Mix and match across modes, easiest first.
- 130,000 XP if you clear the entire event, at 2,500 XP a challenge and 10,000 XP a mastery camo.
The Camo Costume Party event went live with Season 06 and its full reward list is still being worked out in-game. Information in this post may change as new details become available. We will keep this post updated.
How the Event Works
The event sits under the Events tab and splits into four tabs: Co-Op and Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. Every tab holds the same nine weapon classes, and every class has exactly one challenge behind it. Nine challenges, four times over.
Each challenge pays 2,500 XP and unlocks that mode’s camo for that one weapon class. The game calls these Universal Camos, which here means universal inside the class: beat the Multiplayer shotgun challenge and Gray Matter goes on every shotgun you own, but not on your AR. To put a camo on everything you carry, you need the mastery camo.
Clear all nine challenges inside a single mode and you get that mode’s animated mastery camo plus 10,000 XP. Those four are the real prizes, and they go on any weapon. Complete any nine challenges at all, from any combination of modes, and the Arcblade melee weapon unlocks on top.
Add it up and the full event is 130,000 XP: 90,000 from the 36 challenges and 40,000 from the four mastery camos. That is a serious amount of weapon and battle pass progress for a three week window.
The tables below repeat the challenge text exactly as the game writes it, so you can match a line here against the card on your screen. The last column is the number the in-game tracker counts up to.
Co-Op and Endgame Challenges
The camo here is Undergrowth, a teal cave scene with glowing mushrooms growing over the weapon. It is the best looking of the four static camos, and it is also behind the most awkward set of challenges, because almost every one of them leans on something specific to Endgame rather than general play.
| Weapon Class | Challenge | Tracker |
|---|---|---|
| Assault Rifles | Eliminate 75 Guild Tech Enemies with Assault Rifles | 75 |
| SMGs | Get 500 Eliminations with an SMG released in Season 01 or later | 500 |
| Shotguns | Get 10 Kills with a Shotgun without taking damage 15 times | 15 |
| LMGs | Get 300 Eliminations with LMGs while your Combat Rating is 40 or higher | 300 |
| Marksman Rifles | Use Marksman Rifles to Eliminate 25 Special or Elite enemies | 25 |
| Sniper Rifles | Get 100 Critical Kills on Fear Enemies with a Sniper Rifle | 100 |
| Pistols | Kill an enemy with a Pistol shortly after wingsuiting 15 times | 15 |
| Launchers and Specials | Get a Kill with a Launcher or Special Weapon while airborne 50 times | 50 |
| Melee | Get 75 Critical Kills with Melee Weapons | 75 |
Guild Tech enemies, Fear enemies, Combat Rating and wingsuiting are all Endgame systems, so treat this tab as the Endgame tab. The SMG line is the one worth planning around: 500 eliminations is a long session on its own, and it only counts with an SMG that released in Season 01 or later, so your launch favourite is no help.
Multiplayer Challenges
Gray Matter is the Multiplayer camo, all wet grey brain matter with red glowing between the folds. Its challenge set is the most normal of the four. Nothing here asks for an event mode or a specific piece of loot, and most of it happens while you play the way you already play.
| Weapon Class | Challenge | Tracker |
|---|---|---|
| Assault Rifles | Get 100 Eliminations with Assault Rifles in T.E.D.D. Trials | 100 |
| SMGs | Get 50 Hipfire Kills with SMGs | 50 |
| Shotguns | Get 3 Kills without dying 10 times with a Shotgun | 10 |
| LMGs | Get 5 Kills without dying 3 times with a LMG | 3 |
| Marksman Rifles | Get 2 Kills without taking damage with a Marksman Rifle 3 times | 3 |
| Sniper Rifles | Get 3 Headshots in a single match with a Sniper Rifle 5 times | 5 |
| Pistols | Get 30 Eliminations with a Pistol equipped with a Suppressor | 30 |
| Launchers and Specials | Get 15 Eliminations in Hordepoint with Launchers Or Special Weapons | 15 |
| Melee | Get 5 Objective Kills with Melee Weapons | 5 |
Two of these are tied to playlists rather than skill. The assault rifle line wants T.E.D.D. Trials, the new 6v6 mode played on Zombies maps where the team completing the most tasks wins. The launcher line wants Hordepoint, the returning twist on Hardpoint where zombies roam the map and fight for whoever holds the objective.
Hordepoint is also the easiest place in the event to pick up objective eliminations, so run the melee challenge in the same queue and take two lines out at once.
Zombies Challenges
Zombie Mai Tai is a returning camo, and the game says so on the card: first seen in Black Ops II. It is the cartoon one, green foliage and undead faces plastered over the weapon, and it looks nothing like the other three. Earning it is the hardest work in the event.
| Weapon Class | Challenge | Tracker |
|---|---|---|
| Assault Rifles | Get 500 Eliminations with Assault Rifles while Juggernog and Speed Cola are active | 500 |
| SMGs | Get 500 Eliminations with an SMG in Rogue Run | 500 |
| Shotguns | Get 75 Kills with a Shotgun during a single T.E.D.D. Trial | 1 |
| LMGs | Get 30 Kills with an LMG without reloading 10 times | 10 |
| Marksman Rifles | Get 500 Kills with a Marksman Rifle from the Mystery Box | 500 |
| Sniper Rifles | Eliminate 4 Elite Zombies with a Sniper Rifle | 4 |
| Pistols | Get 300 Eliminations with a Pistol in Cursed | 300 |
| Launchers and Specials | Get 100 Kills with Legendary Rarity Launchers or Special Weapons | 100 |
| Melee | Get 250 Kills with a Pack-A-Punch Level III Melee Weapon | 250 |
Three challenges at 500 eliminations each, one at 300, one at 250. The conditions stack on top of that: the marksman rifle has to come out of the Mystery Box, the pistol eliminations only count in Cursed, and the assault rifle run needs Juggernog and Speed Cola both active at the time.
The shotgun line is the one to read twice. It asks for 75 eliminations with a shotgun during a single T.E.D.D. Trial, and the counter is 1, not 75. It wants one qualifying trial, so it is a single focused run rather than a grind, and it is the cheapest Zombies challenge on the board once you know that. The LMG line works the same way at 10 separate runs of 30 without reloading.
Warzone Challenges
Patchwork is the Warzone camo, a stitched together skin-and-canvas pattern in sickly greens and pinks. The challenges behind it are by far the smallest numbers in the event.
| Weapon Class | Challenge | Tracker |
|---|---|---|
| Assault Rifles | Get 25 Eliminations with Ground Loot Assault Rifles | 25 |
| SMGs | Get a Kill with an SMG before the 3rd Circle 25 times | 25 |
| Shotguns | Get 10 Kills with a Shotgun while in the Top 10 | 10 |
| LMGs | Get 2 Kills with an LMG without reloading 5 times | 5 |
| Marksman Rifles | Kill 15 enemies with a Marksman Rifle without an Optic equipped | 15 |
| Sniper Rifles | Get 5 Headshots with Sniper Rifles | 5 |
| Pistols | Kill a Bounty Target with a Pistol | 1 |
| Launchers and Specials | Get 5 Kills while moving with Launchers or Special Weapons | 5 |
| Melee | Get a Kill with a Melee Weapon shortly after switching weapons 3 times | 3 |
One bounty target with a pistol. Five sniper headshots. Three melee eliminations after a weapon switch. Nothing on this tab asks for more than 25 of anything, and the ground loot line actively rewards not bringing a loadout, which is the opposite of how most Warzone challenges work.
The Four Mastery Camos
These are the four animated camos, one per mode, and each needs a full nine out of nine in its own tab. No mixing across modes for these, and each pays 10,000 XP on completion. They are true universal camos, so they go on any weapon in your armoury once earned.
The fourth is Malignant, the Zombies mastery camo, a green and purple mist that only shows as a thumbnail on the Zombies tab until you get near it. It is named on the official Season 06 camo checklist alongside the other three, and it needs all nine Zombies challenges, which makes it the most expensive camo in the event.
How to Unlock the Arcblade
Complete any 9 Event Camo Challenges. That is the whole requirement, and the word that matters is any. The nine can come from four different tabs, so nothing forces you into a mode you do not play.
Activision describes it as a near-future spin on a bladed tonfa, with high damage, fast attack speed and moderate range. It carries 30 weapon levels and mastery badges, takes no attachments, and supports blueprints. If you only want one thing from this event, this is the one to chase, because the nine cheapest challenges in the game are genuinely quick.
The Fastest Route Through the Event
Start in Warzone, and it is not close. We went through all four tabs on launch day and added up every tracker, and the gap is not subtle.
| Mode | Camo | Trackers Combined |
|---|---|---|
| Warzone | Patchwork | 94 |
| Multiplayer | Gray Matter | 221 |
| Co-Op and Endgame | Undergrowth | 1,155 |
| Zombies | Zombie Mai Tai | 2,165 |
Those totals are a rough guide rather than a stopwatch, because a tracker does not always mean one elimination. The Zombies shotgun challenge counts as 1 and hides 75 eliminations inside a single trial, and every “without dying” line asks for a streak rather than a number. The shape of it holds up anyway. Same 2,500 XP per challenge, same camo structure, completely different time cost.
So the efficient run is this. Take the nine Warzone challenges first, which hands you Patchwork on every class, the Death Row mastery camo and the Arcblade in one pass. Then decide whether you actually want the other three mastery camos, because Zombies is where this event stops being casual.
The event ends on 8 October. The Zombies tab alone adds up to 2,165 on its trackers, so if you want Malignant, start it now rather than in the last week.

Frequently Asked Questions
When does the BO7 Camo Costume Party event end?
The event ends on Thursday 8 October. It went live with Season 06 on 17 September, and the in-game timer read 20 days and 22 hours when we captured the event screen that afternoon. The countdown on the Events tab is the one to trust, since it is the clock the game itself is running.
How do you unlock the Arcblade in Black Ops 7?
Complete any 9 Event Camo Challenges. They do not have to come from one mode, so you can take the nine easiest challenges across Warzone, Multiplayer, Zombies and Endgame and the Arcblade unlocks. It is a melee weapon with 30 levels, no attachments, and blueprint support.
How many challenges are in the BO7 Camo Costume Party event?
36 in total. Each of the four modes has one challenge for each of the nine weapon classes. Every challenge pays 2,500 XP, and finishing all nine in a mode pays another 10,000 XP, so clearing the whole event is worth 130,000 XP.
Do the Camo Costume Party camos work on every weapon in BO7?
Each challenge unlocks that mode's camo for one weapon class, and the game labels it a Universal Camo, so beating the SMG challenge gives you the camo on every SMG you own. The four mastery camos are the ones that go on anything, since they read "Universal Camo: equip to any weapon".
What are the Camo Costume Party mastery camos in BO7?
Four animated camos, one per mode: Gravebloom for Co-Op and Endgame, Grubs for Multiplayer, Malignant for Zombies, and Death Row for Warzone. Each needs all nine challenges in that mode and pays 10,000 XP.
Which mode is fastest for the BO7 Camo Costume Party camos?
Warzone. Its nine trackers add up to 94, including a single bounty target eliminated with a pistol and five sniper headshots. Zombies is the slowest by a wide margin at 2,165, with three separate challenges asking for 500 eliminations each.
What is the Oozed camo in the Camo Costume Party event?
Oozed is listed on the official Call of Duty Season 06 camo checklist as one of the nine Camo Costume Party camos, but it is not attached to any challenge on the four event tabs in-game. The event screen only accounts for the other eight. We will update this post once its unlock appears.
