Operator Prestige is a new progression system in Black Ops 7 Endgame that lets you reset your operator’s Combat Rating in exchange for permanent skill slot upgrades. It launched with Season 04 on June 4, 2026, and adds a meaningful endgame grind for players who have already maxed out their operators.
There are 3 prestige levels per operator, each unlocking more powerful builds than what was previously possible. If you have been sitting at max CR with nothing left to chase, this is exactly what the mode needed.

What is Operator Prestige in BO7 Endgame?
Operator Prestige is a reset-and-upgrade loop, similar to how prestige has worked in Call of Duty multiplayer for years. Once your operator reaches max Combat Rating (CR 66), a notification pops up on your loadout screen giving you the option to enter Prestige 1. Coverage from DayOne and COG Connected confirmed the feature alongside the rest of Season 04’s content drop.

According to the official Season 04 patch notes, entering prestige “discards all equipped Skills, resets the Operator’s CR, discards equipped Field Acquisitions, and resets Loadout weapons to their base rarity.” In return, you unlock additional skill slots that make your operator more powerful than before.
The system applies to each operator slot individually. You have 4 operator slots, and each one prestiges on its own. You could have one operator at Prestige 3 running a fully stacked build while keeping another at base level for a different playstyle.
Reaching CR 66 alone is not enough. You also need all 3 Exotic skills and all 3 Nightmare skills maxed out alongside your 3 Skill Tracks. If any of those are incomplete, the prestige option will not appear. Multiple creators have confirmed this requirement in their Season 04 prestige guides.
How to Prestige Your Operator
The process is straightforward:
- Max out your operator’s Combat Rating by playing Endgame in Avalon
- Go to the Loadout screen, where a banner reads “Operator Prestige 1 Available”
- Select it to open the Operator Prestige confirmation screen
- Review what you are giving up and what you will gain
- Hold the button to confirm (or select “Not Now” to keep grinding)

After confirming, you get a “Welcome to Operator Prestige” animation with a star icon. Then you are dropped back to a fresh loadout and start building your CR from scratch.

All Prestige Rewards
Each prestige level unlocks a permanent upgrade to your operator’s skill loadout. These rewards do not reset when you prestige again. The requirements increase with each prestige level:

The Prestige 3 reward is the big one. A 4th Skill Track opens up build combinations that were simply not possible before. As the Season 04 blog post puts it:

Builds After Prestige
The real reason to prestige is the build options it opens up. At base level (no prestige), you can equip 3 Skill Tracks out of the available pool. Each prestige adds more flexibility.

The screenshot above shows a Prestige 1 operator at CR 69 with Bulldozer, Berserker, and Daredevil all leveled to 16. At Prestige 3, you could equip all of those as your four Skill Tracks and stack them with the extra Exotic and Nightmare skill slots from earlier prestiges.
The popular “God Build” community combo is Tactician + Bulldozer + Berserker as your core three tracks, with the 4th slot opening up options like Daredevil for aggressive play, Surgeon for survivability, or Gunner for reload speed. Prestige Star Indicators
After prestiging, a visual star icon appears next to your operator’s name on the loadout screen. It is a quick way to show other players (and yourself) how far your operator has progressed.

Is Operator Prestige Worth It?
Short answer: yes, if you plan to keep playing Endgame.
Our team prestiged on day one and the extra Exotic Skill slot from Prestige 1 alone makes a noticeable difference. You can run builds that simply were not possible before, stacking skills in ways that feel genuinely overpowered. The community is already theory-crafting some wild combinations.
The grind back to CR 66 is real, but it goes faster the second time around because you already know the mode. You know which activities give the most CR, which loadouts work best, and which areas of Avalon to focus on. The only reason to hold off is if you are in the middle of a specific build you do not want to lose yet. There is no timer on this. The prestige option stays available once you hit max CR, so you can finish whatever you are working on first.
Tips for Prestiging
Before You Prestige
- Make sure you are ready to commit. Once you prestige, there is no going back. You cannot undo it.
- Consider prestiging one operator slot at a time. Keep one maxed operator for harder content like Operations while you level up your prestiged one.
- Stock up on Restore Tokens before prestiging. They carry over and help you rebuild faster. Starting in Season 04, Restore Tokens can also drop as loot during Endgame matches.
Leveling CR Back to 66
- Farm blue Power Cubes in Zone IV. Each one gives 600 CR, or 750 if collected inside the Nightmare Zone. Do not bother actively hunting cubes in Zones I-III unless you fly right past them. KasterTheDadGamer demonstrated going from 0 to CR 60 in just two matches using this route. The final push from 60 to 66 (maxing Exotics and Nightmares) takes a few more games.
- CR scaling is exponential. Getting from 0 to 45 takes roughly one match, but 45 to 66 takes just as long because each level demands more CR. Do not get discouraged by the slowdown in the second half.
- After collecting all cubes, switch to completing HVTs in Zone III or IV. These give solid CR and respawn frequently.
- While farming, join any nearby green activities you pass (Command Centers, Grid Takedowns, Surprise Shipments). You get CR credit just for participating, even if you started late. Grid Takedowns are especially easy because you can start them, walk away, and still get credit.
- World Events (Mega Abominations, Guild Strikes, Oscar fights, the Deathclaw event) are worth a big chunk of CR. Never skip them when they spawn.
- Invest in Power Upgrades (Health, Armor, Movement Speed) as you level. Whether or not these carry over through prestige is unconfirmed, but they make the grind smoother regardless.
After Prestiging
- The extra skill slots stack with each prestige. By Prestige 3, your operator runs significantly more skills than a base-level one.
- Experiment with your new Exotic or Nightmare skill slot. The extra slot lets you try combinations that were not possible before, which is the whole point of the system.
- Once you hit Prestige 3 and have 4 Skill Tracks, test different track combos. The meta is still forming and there is room to find something that works for your playstyle.
