Samantha’s Drawing is a Sinister tier relic on Ashes of the Damned, and it was the last of the map’s nine relics to be solved. To unlock it you feed a trash can called Chompy one weapon of each rarity in ascending order, ending with a wonder weapon on round 40 or higher, then survive a 5-wave trial at Zarya Cosmodrome. Once equipped, it swaps all of your weapons every round like a gun game, keeping their Pack-a-Punch tier and rarity.
- Cursed Mode on Ashes of the Damned, main Easter egg done, Tier 1 relic access
- Feed Chompy one weapon per rarity, lowest to highest (keep your gray starting pistol)
- The final feed must be a wonder weapon on round 40 or higher (a Ray Gun works)
- An orange portal opens at Zarya Cosmodrome, then clear the 5-wave trial
- Relic effect: weapons swap every round, keeping Pack-a-Punch and rarity (gun game)
Our team unlocked Samantha’s Drawing in co-op and grabbed screenshots of every stage, from each Chompy spawn to the round 40 Ray Gun feed and the final trial. It took us roughly an hour to reach round 40, plus about 30 minutes for the run itself. Creators like MrDalekJD and AC OMEGA cover it too, and ZoneX breaks down the Ashes of the Damned relics for his community.
Requirements
Samantha’s Drawing only unlocks once you are already set up for Cursed relics. Here is everything you need in place first.
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Map | Ashes of the Damned |
| Relic Tier | Sinister (2 relic points) |
| Main Easter Egg | Must be completed. Relics only unlock in Cursed after the map’s main quest. |
| Cursed Access | Tier 1, so you need enough relics equipped to reach the first tier. |
| Keep | Your gray starting pistol. It is the only common-rarity weapon you can feed. |
| Wonder weapon | A Ray Gun or Ray Gun Mark 2 for the final feed on round 40 or higher. |
New to the relic system? Our What Is Cursed Mode guide explains the three tiers and how relic points work. It is worth reading before you start hunting down Chompy.
Step 1: Feed Chompy Every Rarity in Order
The whole unlock revolves around Chompy, a garbage can that devours weapons. Melee the lid to open it, then hold your interact button to Feed Weapon. The trick that stumped the community for weeks is simple once you know it: feed Chompy one weapon of each rarity, from the lowest to the highest, and only weapons count. Equipment and grenades do nothing.
Here is the exact order to feed. Match the weapon’s rarity color, not its Pack-a-Punch tier.
| Order | Rarity | Color | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Common | Gray | Your starting pistol |
| 2 | Uncommon | Green | Wall buy or an Arsenal upgrade |
| 3 | Rare | Blue | Arsenal or a rarity bump |
| 4 | Epic | Purple | Arsenal or Mystery Box |
| 5 | Legendary | Orange | Arsenal or Mystery Box |
| 6 | Mythic | Yellow | A wonder weapon, fed on round 40 or higher |
You can feed the gray through legendary weapons at any round, so knock those out early while you build points. Only the final mythic feed is locked behind a round requirement.
Do not upgrade or Pack-a-Punch your starting pistol before you feed it. Once you bump its rarity you have no common-gray weapon left to give Chompy, and the whole chain stalls at step one.
Chompy Locations
Chompy has a spawn at most of the map’s points of interest, but only some bins are active at any given time. If the nearest one will not open, move to another area and check its bin. You can feed different rarities at different bins, so you do not have to stick to one. We tracked down six spawns on our run. Click any shot to enlarge it.

Step 2: Feed a Wonder Weapon on Round 40
The final feed is the one with a rule attached. You need a mythic-rarity wonder weapon, and you have to feed it on round 40 or higher. On our run we recycled a Porter’s X2 Ray Gun into Chompy the moment we hit round 40, and the portal triggered right after.
The Necrofluid Gauntlet does not work here. It cannot be fed to Chompy, so it never counts as your mythic weapon. Pull a Ray Gun or Ray Gun Mark 2 from the Mystery Box, or grab a free one from a side Easter egg on the map, and feed that instead. If you have not landed a ray gun by round 40, a Wonderbar Gobble Gum will hand you a wonder weapon on the spot.
Because only this last feed cares about the round, the smart play is to have your gray through legendary weapons already fed by the time you reach round 40. Then all that is left is to grab a ray gun and drop it in.
Step 3: Enter the Portal at Zarya Cosmodrome
Once the round 40 wonder-weapon feed lands, an orange relic portal opens at Zarya Cosmodrome. It sits over by the garage doors near the barn task area, a swirling vortex you cannot miss once it spawns.
Walk into it to bring up the Relic Trial prompt. Read it before you commit, because it tells you exactly what the fight takes away.
The prompt reads “Ammo Cache and Max Ammo Power-Ups are disabled,” and it also warns that all your equipped relics are switched off for the trial. That no-ammo rule is the whole gimmick. Solo, you drop straight in. In co-op, interacting starts a vote so the squad enters together.
Since the trial blocks ammo refills, you can turn its own requirement into an advantage. Equip the Dragon relic for the run, since it also disables ammo caches. You stack the handicap you are already living with, and knock out progress toward the Dragon at the same time.
Step 4: Survive the Trial (5 Waves)
Start the trial and the “Sinister Trial Activated” banner drops. You are locked into a 5-wave fight at Zarya Cosmodrome: three standard kill waves and two HVT waves, with the HVTs landing on waves 2 and 5.
| Wave | Objective | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Clear standard zombies | Fill the kill bar, warm up |
| 2 | Kill the HVTs | Focus the marked enemies early |
| 3 | Clear standard zombies | Watch your ammo, no refills are coming |
| 4 | Clear standard zombies | Keep training the horde |
| 5 | Kill the HVTs | Final push, take down the last targets |
With no ammo caches and no Max Ammo drops, ammo management is the real test here. Bring the Necrofluid Gauntlet if you have it, since it never runs dry and makes the whole modifier a non-issue. Combat Axes are strong too, because you can pick them back up if you keep a tidy training pattern, and a War Machine melts the HVT waves. We cleared it in co-op with no Gobble Gums.
Clear all five waves and the “Trial Complete” banner appears. Samantha’s Drawing is permanently unlocked for Ashes of the Damned.
Relic Effect

Equip Samantha’s Drawing and every weapon you are holding swaps to a different gun at the start of each round. The catch that keeps it playable is that the new weapon keeps your Pack-a-Punch tier and rarity, so a swap never drops you back to a base pistol. Your upgrades carry across, you just do not get to pick what you are holding.
In practice it turns a run into a gun game. One round you are on an SMG, the next a shotgun, the next something you would never have chosen. The upside is variety. The downside is control, since Cursed leans on point farming and you cannot count on having the right gun for the job when you need it.
Is Samantha’s Drawing Worth It?
As a relic to actually equip, it is a novelty rather than a power pick. There is no buff attached, and giving up control of your weapon can get rough in a serious high-round attempt. You grab Samantha’s Drawing for the completion and the 2 relic points it adds toward your score.
That said, of the three Sinister relics it is the most fun to run for a challenge. Vril Sphere caps you at four perks and Focusing Stone turns off self-revives, and both just make you weaker. Samantha’s Drawing at least changes how a run feels round to round. Our honest take is that it is weird more than hard, so treat it as a fun modifier, not something you keep on when you are pushing rounds.
Unlock Samantha’s Drawing once for the points and to finish the map’s relic set. Run it when you want a gun-game challenge, and swap to something with an upside when you are going for a real high round.
All Ashes of the Damned Relics
Ashes of the Damned has 9 relics total, the most of any map, split across the three tiers. Samantha’s Drawing was the ninth and final one to be cracked, roughly two months after the others. | Sinister | Focusing Stone | Self-revives disabled |
| Wicked | Bus | Enemy health regenerates |
| Wicked | Dragon | Ammo caches disabled |
| Wicked | Blood Vials | All augments disabled |
Tips
- Keep your gray starting pistol unupgraded until you feed it. It is the only common-rarity weapon Chompy will take.
- Feed gray through legendary early while you farm points. Only the mythic wonder weapon needs round 40 or higher.
- Grab a Ray Gun from the Mystery Box, a side Easter egg, or a Wonderbar Gobble Gum for the final feed. The Necrofluid Gauntlet cannot be fed.
- Equip the Dragon relic for the run so its ammo-cache handicap overlaps with the trial modifier.
- Bring the Necrofluid Gauntlet into the trial, since ammo caches and Max Ammo are turned off.
- It is fully soloable and co-op friendly. We cleared it in co-op with no Gobble Gums.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Samantha's Drawing relic do in BO7 Zombies?
Samantha's Drawing swaps every weapon you are holding at the start of each round, but keeps the same Pack-a-Punch tier and rarity level. It plays like a gun game round to round, since you never control which weapon you get next. It is a Sinister tier relic on Ashes of the Damned, worth 2 relic points.
How do you unlock Samantha's Drawing on Ashes of the Damned?
Feed a trash can called Chompy one weapon of each rarity in ascending order, from common gray up to a mythic wonder weapon. The lower rarities can go in at any round, but the final wonder-weapon feed must happen on round 40 or higher. After that, an orange portal opens at Zarya Cosmodrome, and clearing its 5-wave trial unlocks the relic.
Where is Chompy on Ashes of the Damned in BO7?
Chompy is a garbage can that spawns at several points of interest, including Vandorn Farm, Market Square, Zarya Cosmodrome, Exit 115, Blackwater Lake, and Janus Towers Plaza. Only some bins are active at once. Melee the lid to open it, then hold interact to Feed Weapon.
What rarity order do you feed Chompy for Samantha's Drawing?
Lowest to highest: common gray, uncommon green, rare blue, epic purple, legendary orange, then a mythic wonder weapon last. Keep your gray starting pistol, since it is the only common-rarity weapon you can feed.
What is the Samantha's Drawing trial modifier in BO7?
Ammo Cache and Max Ammo power-ups are disabled for the whole trial, and every relic you have equipped is switched off during the fight. It runs for 5 waves: three standard kill waves and two HVT waves, with the HVTs on waves 2 and 5.
Do you have to reach round 40 for Samantha's Drawing?
Only the final feed does. You can feed Chompy the gray through legendary weapons at any round, but the mythic wonder weapon has to go in on round 40 or later before the portal will spawn.
Can you feed the Necrofluid Gauntlet to Chompy in BO7?
No. The Necrofluid Gauntlet cannot be fed to Chompy, so it does not count as your mythic weapon. Grab a Ray Gun or Ray Gun Mark 2 from the Mystery Box, a side Easter egg, or a Wonderbar Gobble Gum for the round 40 feed.
Is Samantha's Drawing worth equipping in BO7?
As a power pick, no. The random weapon swaps are a fun challenge, not a buff, and losing control of your gun hurts in Cursed's point economy. Most players grab it for the completion and the 2 relic points, then run it for variety rather than high rounds.
