The Druid Stone relic is a Grim tier relic on Kowakujo, and it held out the longest: it was the final relic on the map without a confirmed trigger. That finally changed on July 3, 2026. After nearly a week of community testing, the trigger is locked: reach round 20 without taking a single hit from a zombie, and the portal opens in the Flower Garden. Its effect removes your bleed-out bar entirely, and self-revives kick in the instant you go down.

TL;DR
  • Map: Kowakujo, any Cursed tier, main Easter egg done once
  • Trigger: reach round 20 without taking any zombie damage. Lava, ash and fire are safe
  • Cheese for now: any player joining between round 1 and 19 unlocks it regardless of what happens after
  • Portal opens on the round 20 flip in the Flower Garden, left of the Wisp Tea machine
  • Trial: zombies only take damage while you are overhealed (stims, Light Mend, cherry blossom trees)
  • Effect: no bleed-out bar. Downs are instant death unless a self-revive picks you straight up

This one was cracked by the ZoneX relic-hunting community after days of dead-end theories, from meleeing trees to point thresholds. Calamiityy (TheRealAero) finally tested the social distancing idea and confirmed it multiple times, with T3x and tresop having opened the very first portal. We have been tracking that thread since day one, our own squad has already cleared the trial, and the method below reflects the confirmed solve, hours old as we publish.

What the Druid Stone Relic Does

With Druid Stone equipped, the bleed-out bar is gone. In normal Zombies a down gives your team a window to revive you. With this relic there is no window: go down without a self-revive and you are dead on the spot, even with three teammates standing next to you.

The flip side is what it does to self-revives. Instead of the usual slow pickup, a self-revive now triggers immediately and puts you straight back on your feet. You trade every safety net for one fast one, and the relic is essentially a bet that you will always have a self-revive in your pocket.

The effect in one line

No bleed-out bar. Without a self-revive a down is instant death, with one you pop straight back up.

Requirements

There is no Easter egg step and no item hunt in this one. The whole unlock is one discipline check followed by one trial.

Step 1: No Zombie Damage Until Round 20

The confirmed trigger is simple to state and hard to do: survive from round 1 to the round 20 flip without taking a single hit from a zombie. It works like the Social Distancing Dark Ops challenge, with one important difference: environmental damage does not count. The community tested this deliberately, walking through lava right before the solve was posted, and the portal still opened. Lava, ash clouds and fire are all safe. Zombie contact is the only thing that kills the trigger.

A solid setup for the legit run: train in the big open area next to the big cherry tree, where you have room to loop zombies for the early rounds. The Wall Power gobblegum gets you a wall-buy weapon like the Peacekeeper without risky Mystery Box trips. Watch for the Oni, which can start spawning around round 12: an Invisibility Shroud the moment they appear saves runs. From round 15 on, keep Kazimir grenades crafted and lean on Re-Equipment, Max Ammos and Insta-Kills to control the last rounds.

Two safety nets for the legit route. If you do get hit while playing solo, save and quit immediately, reload the save, and the run continues with a clean slate. And when round 20 flips, the Mr. Peeks laugh can lag around five seconds behind the round counter, so do not panic if it is not instant.

One honest unknown: whether a hit that only breaks armor plates counts as damage is unconfirmed, and early reports claiming it is safe came from bugged runs. Until someone proves it clean, play like every zombie touch ends the attempt.

There is also a temporary shortcut, and it is the route our own squad used. The trigger check breaks the moment anyone joins a match in progress: have a friend join your no-fill squad game at any point between round 1 and 19, and the portal opens on the round 20 flip no matter what happens in the run. A reported solo variant: finish the boss fight, save and quit as soon as you are back, and reload the save. Both are clearly bugs, so if you do not feel like the no-damage challenge, grab the relic this way before Treyarch patches it. The legit route is not going anywhere, the cheese probably is.

Step 2: Survive the Overhealed Trial

On the round 20 flip you hear the Mr. Peeks laugh and the portal opens in the Flower Garden, in the garden area to the left of the Wisp Tea perk machine. All relics are disabled inside, and the rule is on the card: zombies only take damage while you are overhealed.

The trial runs four waves, and waves 2 and 4 spawn Elite Oni that soak a lot of damage. Everything lives or dies on your overheal uptime. Stim shots plus the Light Mend ammo mod carried our run: stims overheal you on demand, and Light Mend keeps topping you up while you shoot. The cherry blossom trees work as a backup: melee one three times until it glows, then stand under it for overcharged health. You are free to move between areas during the trial, so reposition whenever a wave area gets uncomfortable, and keep a War Machine ready for the Oni waves.

Is It Worth Equipping?

Honestly, this is the hardest relic on the map to recommend actually running. Losing the entire bleed-out mechanic is brutal in co-op, where teammate revives are the difference between a scare and a wipe. Without a self-revive in your inventory, every down is a death, and the instant self-revive upside does not come close to covering that risk. There are simply better relics on this map for most builds.

Where it earns its slot is completion. It is one of the six Kowakujo relics counting toward the relic-completion camo, and with the trigger finally confirmed it is also the last one most hunters are missing. Grab it, bank the completion, and equip something else.

Tips

  • Going legit? Zombie hits are the only thing that matters. Lava, ash and fire do not break the trigger.
  • Do not rely on armor saving a hit. Whether armor-only damage is safe is unconfirmed, so play as if it is not.
  • Solo insurance: got hit, save and quit right away, reload, and the attempt is still alive.
  • The join cheese works at any round from 1 to 19 and survives anything that happens afterwards. Use it before it gets patched.
  • The Mr. Peeks laugh can come around five seconds after the round 20 flip. Wait before you write the run off.
  • For the trial, bring stims and put Light Mend on your weapon. Melee a cherry blossom tree three times for a backup overheal spot.
  • Save a War Machine for waves 2 and 4. The Elite Oni are the only real walls in the trial.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Druid Stone relic do in BO7 Zombies?

With Druid Stone equipped there is no bleed-out bar. Going down without a self-revive means you die instantly, with no chance for a teammate to pick you up. The upside is that a self-revive triggers the moment you go down and puts you straight back on your feet.

How do you unlock the Druid Stone relic on Kowakujo?

Play Kowakujo on any Cursed tier and reach round 20 without taking a single hit from a zombie. On the round 20 flip you hear the Mr. Peeks laugh and a portal opens in the Flower Garden, left of the Wisp Tea perk machine. Clear the overhealed trial behind it and the relic is yours.

Does lava break the Druid Stone trigger?

No. The ZoneX community tested this deliberately: the solver walked through lava right before the solve was confirmed and the portal still opened. Lava, ash and fire are safe. Only zombie hits break the trigger, so treat every zombie touch as the thing to avoid.

Is there an easier way to get the Druid Stone relic?

Yes, for now. Any player joining your match at any point between round 1 and 19 bugs the check, and the portal opens on round 20 no matter what happens in the run. There is also a solo variant: beat the boss, save and quit right after returning, and reload the save. Expect both to get patched.

What tier is the Druid Stone relic in BO7?

Druid Stone is a Grim tier relic on Kowakujo, the same tier as Gramophone. Do not let the tier fool you though: the legitimate no-damage trigger makes it one of the harder relics on the map to earn without the join workaround.

What is the Druid Stone relic trial?

The rule is that zombies only take damage while you are overhealed. It runs four waves, and waves 2 and 4 spawn Elite Oni. Stim shots and the Light Mend ammo mod are the most reliable overheal sources, and the cherry blossom trees work too: melee one three times until it glows, then stand under it.

Is the Druid Stone relic worth equipping in BO7?

It is a tough sell. Without a self-revive every down is instant death, and the instant self-revive upside rarely outweighs that risk when other relics give more. It mainly earns its place as a completion pick, since it counts toward the relic-completion camo.

Big thanks to the ZoneX relic-hunting community, who chased this trigger for a week and finally pinned it down: Calamiityy (TheRealAero) confirmed the social distancing solve through repeated testing, T3x and tresop opened the first portal, and UFO kept the effort documented throughout. ZoneX published his own no-timewasting video guide the same day, AC OMEGA’s video guide covers the confirmed method, and AC OMEGA’s earlier exploit walkthrough documents the join workaround. More background on the relic is on the Druid Stone wiki page.
